The Battle for your Heart

God has given the believer five pieces of armor to protect us in the midst of spiritual warfare. He gives us the breastplate that covers our heart, lungs and viscera. Our heart is protected by this “breastplate of righteousness”. The enemy will attack your heart. King David prayed for God to create in him “a clean heart”. (Psalm 51:10). Jesus said “Blessed are the pure heart: for they shall see God” (Matthew 5:4).
As a disciple of Jesus Christ I find things in my heart that remind me I am in a battle. Those things shouldn’t be there. If you like old hymns, then you know these words from “Come Thou Fount”. Robert Robinson wrote “Prone to wander, Lord I feel it”. Have you ever felt prone to wander?  I suspect you have. As the enemy attacks us, we must put on the breastplate of the righteousness of Jesus Christ that leads us to a place of safety and holiness.
Please listen to this message as I talk about
1. How God Purifies our Heart.
2. How God Protects our Heart.
3. How God Perfects Our Heart.
You are in a battle whether or not you realize it.
